Lavender. Bergamot. Tea tree. Chamomile. Sandalwood. These are just a few of the many different essential oils. Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s start by defining what essential oils are. Essential oils are oil compounds extracted from plants, and they are typically used in aromatherapy to reduce unwanted symptoms and support overall health. Essential oils are loved by millions of people around the world. The value of the essential oils industry is expected to reach an astonishing $27 billion by the end of 2022, so saying that essential oils are popular would be an extreme understatement. Maybe you’re one of those people who have wanted to try essential oils before but have felt overwhelmed by the idea of jumping into the world of essential oils. Which oils am I supposed to use? How do I use them? If you’ve ever asked yourself either of these questions, then you’re in luck because today we are here to tell you about three important essential oils and also show you how to use them. Don’t worry about not having the right tools either; we’ll tell you all about what you’ll need, such as humidifiers with essential oils capabilities. To finally get familiar with essential oils and how to use them, keep on reading.

Lavender

Lavender is one of the most commonly used essential oils out there, with a global value of almost $45 million at the moment. This popular essential oil is loved for many reasons, and one of those reasons is its iconic smell. Even if consumers didn’t need to use lavender oil for its aroma-therapeutic effects, people would still be flocking to it because of how good it smells. The floral, not-too-sweet scent of this essential oil has kept it at the top of the essential oils charts for as long as it’s been around. Lavender doesn’t only smell good but is also used for a variety of things like reducing stress, headaches, and insomnia. If you’re trying essential oils for the first time, lavender is the perfect oil to start with.

Tea Tree

The next essential oil you need to know about is tea tree oil. In contrast to the floral scent of lavender oil, tea tree oil has a sharper, almost sterile scent, but people still love how it smells. Tea tree oil is most often used when someone is sick with an infection, as positive results have come out of studies looking at the microbial effect of tea tree oil. While they by no means prove that tea tree oil can cure infections, they do show a positive association between using this particular essential oil and experiencing healthy outcomes.

Lemon

Lemon oil is a fan favorite among citrus lovers with its sweet, citrusy scent, and it can be used to help with a variety of symptoms. Struggling with indigestion or headaches? Lemon oil might help you find relief. Do you want to use an essential oil that might help improve your mood? Lemon oil could also help with that. No matter what you’re trying to find relief from, chances are lemon oil can meet your needs.

How to Use Essential Oils

Now, let’s move on to how to use essential oils. We talked about three important essential oils to look into – lavender, tea tree, and lemon – and now we’re going to show you how to use them to help reduce your stress, get rid of headaches, or any other effect you’re looking for out of them.

Essential Oils Diffusers

One way to use essential oils is to diffuse the oil into the air using an essential oils diffuser. There are multiple kinds of diffusers, such as electric or ceramic ones, but if you walk into any home goods store, you’ll probably find a diffuser that will work just fine. Put some filtered water into the diffuser, add several drops of the essential oil of your choice, and the diffuser will gradually diffuse the oil into the air for your body to breathe in.

Humidifiers With Essential Oils

Another way to use essential oils is to use a humidifier to disperse the oil into the room. Humidifiers with essential oils capabilities are super easy to use; all you have to do is put a couple of drops of the oil into the designated essential oils tray, and then the humidifier will do its job. Humidifiers with essential oils trays are not as easy to find as your average essential oils diffuser, so if you find one, add it to your cart immediately. One of the best parts of humidifiers with essential oils capabilities is that you can also use them as normal humidifiers, so they can serve you multiple purposes, giving you the most back for your money.

Conclusion

We hope this article helped show you some useful essential oils as well as how you can start using them. Getting into essential oils really isn’t that difficult, so hopefully, this article made it easier for you to jump right in and get started. Once you start using essential oils, you’ll never want to go back.
