Some leg spinners look different right from the start. Australian leggie Tanveer Sangha does appear to be one from the lot. He made his T20 Debut when the Stars played against the Thunders at Canberra in December of 2020. Recently, the dangerous Andre Russel praised this youngster and said that he has a big heart. Here is everything about Tanveer Sangha, which no cricket tipster would want to miss.
Brief History: Family, Background, and the outing in U-19
Tanveer Sangha was born on the 26th of November, 2001, to an Indian immigrant family. He went on to develop a deep interest in cricket and bowled particularly well. He started as a pacer, but destiny had different plans. Cricket Australia’s official website also tells us that initially, Tanveer Sangha had a liking for volleyball.
Sangha made an immediate impact in club cricket and earned his spot in under-age teams at the state and international levels. He met Fawad Ahmed when Australia’s Under-16 team played a series in Melbourne, who was highly impressed by his talent. He began to shine brighter when he ran the show at the 2020 Under-19 World Cup in South Africa. Among his other achievements, earning a rookie contract at age 18 with the New South Wales Blues stands out. Tanveer Sangha had an impressive season with the Sydney Thunder in the KFC BBL. He bowled excellently and was too hot to handle even for seasoned T20 players. His best performance is one where he bowled with flight and guile to claim four wickets against the Melbourne Renegades.
Sangha appears to be a bowler who makes calculated moves. He gives the ball optimum air and does not concede easy runs.
Some important career highlights:
Among his best performances, his outing at the U-19 World Cup remains on top. He loved it out there in South Africa. Tanveer Sangha emerged as one of the leading wicket-takers, bagging 15 wickets for his team. This included two four-wicket hauls and a five-wicket haul that came by conceding just 14 runs. The fifer came against the Nigeria U-19 team, and Sangha was almost impossible to pick. He has proved to be an asset for his team and mastered the Big Bash League. His performance in the shorter format projects him as a player destined to grow.
